A native of South Florida, Mario Villar grew up Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Villar has been immersed in the hospitality industry and has over 20 years of food and beverage experience. He has mastered the many disciplines of the restaurant business from his first job as a dishwasher in his teenage years working his way through the ranks and on to his current role of partner / general manager at Brick & Barrel Gastropub in Lake Park, Florida.
Villar has worked in some of the most popular South Florida hot spots, including the renowned Rustic Inn Crabhouse in Fort Lauderdale and is known for his significant knowledge of wines, spirits and craft beers. Mario believes in classic bar etiquette, authentic guest service and old school cocktailing. Villar is hands-on and can usually be found working in the trenches with his team during dinner service. In his free time, Villar enjoys sharing a bottle of wine from his cellar with friends or discovering the nuances of Irish whiskeys.
